I studied Sports and Human Rehabilitation BSc (Hons) in Carlow IT. During my final semester of college I saw first hand the benefits of Pilates so once I finished in Carlow IT, I went on and studied to be a Pilates instructor. This was a huge stepping stone in finding out what direction I wanted go and specialise in. I continued with my Reformer Training and I am on regular training and workshops to keep up to date with latest research.
Since starting my own family, my interest and education has grown in Pre and Post Natal Pilates. From my experience I really feel the benefits of my Pilates and I want to serve others who are going through these stages with as much information as they need.
Growing up I was always involved in sport and fitness, as a qualified fitness instructor it has helped me in my practice for prescribing rehabilitation programs to clients along with being able to do my job to full potential.
From Galway originally I discovered Reformer Pilates 12 ago and found it to be an excellent form of exercise especially post natal.
I’ve always been into fitness and health and was previously an avid horse rider. Following a career as a Veterinary Nurse, a move to Clare and some time off to raise my kids I qualified as a Health Coach with IINH in 2015 and in 2016 after rediscovering Reformer Pilates ( having tried every other fitness craze ) I decided to study the Stott Pilates method and get qualified as both a Reformer and Mat Instructor. I recently completed an intensive Injuries and Special Populations course to acquire the skills required to address a broad range of physical challenges among our clients.I
’m truly passionate about watching clients improving their body awareness, health and over all fitness.

Shane studied Sports Rehabilitation and Athletic Therapy (Bsc) in IT Carlow and is currently studying a Msc in Strength and Conditioning in IT Carlow part-time for the next 2 years. He is working through his hours to get his certification for both mat Pilates and reformer Pilates.
For the last year of his 4 year degree, he has had numerous placements in different fields. He was with various teams around Carlow, including the underage county. Shane was a volunteer for the GAA World Games in 2019 and he did his placement in Excel Physiotherapy in Co. Clare. Through that placement he found an interest in Pilates and decided to pursue it. Currently he is the athletic therapist for the Clare Senior Footballers.
Shane’s interest in rehab and helping people recover from injuries or improving performance has really grown since starting Pilates. ‘I find Pilates and injury prevention are a very good combination. I feel a combination of what I have learnt from the Bsc, Msc and the pilates all contribute towards improving everyday activities, sport performance, recovery, injury rehab and prevention’.
